Summer Reading

0

As someone who always has a running list of books to read there is nothing better than a good read in the summer. Well, a good book in the winter, cuddled up in a blanket is pretty cozy too. Oh, who am I kidding, books are truly the best, all year round!

But, since we are in the height of summer- I thought I’d share some of my favorite reads for this season!

Anything by Elin Hilderbrand

I love anything of hers and they’re quintessential summer reading! I love the settings, characters, and storylines that are easy to follow yet still have some depth to them. A particular favorite is The Hotel Nantucket, an unexpected story I couldn’t put down. Her latest, The Five Star Weekend is on my to-read pile.

Me Before You by JoJo Moyes

Maybe it isn’t what you’d think of when it comes to summer reading read due to the setting and its more serious content but I just finished this and really enjoyed it.

Someone Else’s Shoes by JoJo Moyes

A fun read that takes some unexpected twists and turns, I read this one quickly as I wanted to see what happened!

Emily Henry books

These come with mixed reviews- some people love them and some not so much. For me they were fun, quick reads and perfect for a summer night or by the pool. Happy Place is on my “to read” pile.

Every Summer After and Meet Me at the Lake by Carley Fortune

I flew through Every Summer After and it was nostalgic read for me, a story of returning to a beloved place and reconnecting with loved ones. Meet Me at the Lake is on my to-be-read list!

Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfield

This story gives you a behind-the-scenes look at a similar show to Saturday Night Live while also featuring a main character who is easy to root for. It’s a fun read that I couldn’t put down!

Anything by Lisa Jewell

I recommend this author if you are into more serious, mystery-type reads. I haven’t read anything of hers that wasn’t a turn pager. Then She Was Gone, The Family Upstairs, and The Family Remains are suspenseful, intriguing, and keep you guessing.

The Summer I Turned Pretty series by Jenny Han

Although technically geared for young adults and the main characters are in their late teens, this series is full of summer vibes and has enough content that even as an adult, I could relate to. You quickly fall in love with the characters and question who the main character should be with. Are you Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah? (Bonus: the books are now a series on Amazon Prime, so you can read then binge)

I hope you found something on this list that you can add to your read pile. Happy reading, all!
