New this season: Sensory-friendly performances
Sensory-friendly performances are specially designed to create a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental or cognitive abilities. These shows have lower sound levels; lighting adjustments to eliminate bright lights, strobe effects, and black-outs; and open doors to provide easy access to designated quiet spaces in the lobby. The following Family Series shows, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Red Riding Hood, and Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical will have a sensory-friendly performance.
Season Ticket Packages
Get a tickets to all four Kate Goldman Children’s Theatre shows for just $69 adults and $49 students with a season ticket package. This ensures you have your seats, now, for each of our shows in the coming season.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid sold out almost instantly last season! It is anticipated that The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical will be another sold-out show. Make sure you don’t miss it with season tickets. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Nov. 7-29, 2025
Sensory-friendly performance: Sunday, Nov. 9, 4 pm
The Herdman children appear to be the worst kids ever. They lie, they steal, and they curse. When the Herdmans hear the neighborhood church serves treats, they show up and volunteer for the lead roles in this year’s pageant. Ultimately, everyone is reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.
Red Riding Hood
Jan. 9-25, 2026
Sensory-friendly performance: Sunday, Jan. 11; 4 pm
Wolfgang, the greatest actor in the world, is interrupted in his tale-telling when a delivery person arrives with a mysterious package – but the show must go on, and a wolf’s gotta eat. Like an unexpected package, when you open up a fairy tale, you never know what you’ll find.
The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
Mar. 6-22, 2026
Percy Jackson just wants to be a normal kid. That wish is thrown out the window when he learns he’s a demigod who is the son of Poseidon. With his new friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy is thrust into a quest to prevent a war between the gods and learns to embrace his destiny.
Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical
May 8-24, 2026
Sensory-friendly performance: Sunday, May 10 at 4 pm
Lily Polkadot has just moved to Rockaway. As the first Polkadot in an all Square school, Lily faces an almost impossible task of gaining acceptance from her classmates. From daily bullying to segregated drinking fountains, Lily’s quest seems hopeless until she meets Sky, a shy Square boy whose curiosity for her unique polkadots blooms into an unexpected pal-ship. This colorful history lesson reminds us that our differences make us awesome.
