Blend & Bright Salon: Spa Services Review

Blend and Bright Salon provides services in exchange for this review.

As a working mom with an active family, relaxation is usually the lowest priority on my to-do list. If it even makes my to-do list. I love a good spa day as much as the next gal, but sometimes the closest thing I get to a “spa day” is the steam from the dishwasher hitting my face (IYKYK)! But after a day at Blend & Bright Salon, I highly recommend carving the time out of your schedule and putting one of their spa services on your to-do list!

Blend and Brigth Salon ReviewEnter: Relaxation Zone

When I entered Blend & Bright, I knew I was in for a great day. I mean, how often are you offered water, latte, or Italian soda when you walk through the door? (hint: get a raspberry Italian soda. It was divine!) Then you can get changed and hang out in a relaxation room complete with foot massagers and a warm rice pack for your neck. It was so lovely.

Next: Facial Love

One of my favorite things in the world is a facial. A facial is definitely the way to my heart. I love all the relaxation and the glowy way my skin looks after. Haley, the esthetician, is so gifted at what she does. We talked about my skin concerns and goals, regimen (spoiler: it’s pretty basic), and the types of products I use.

I added microderm abrasion to my regular facial and I can tell you my skin has never looked so good after. I also was so relaxed in the massage part that I fell asleep. And snorted. Haley is so good at her job!

Amazing: A Scalp Facial

You know how you see someone on the internet talk about a product or service they love and then by the end you are completely sold and must have that for yourself? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but scalp facials are going to be that thing you’re going to have to have. You know the best part of every haircut is when your stylist is shampooing your hair and massaging your head? Yep, that part is kind of what a scalp facial is like – just on steroids. You start with a scalp analysis with the special tool called a trichoscope, that looks at your roots and the buildup (it’s simultaneously cool and horrifying). It’s paired with aromatherapy, scalp treatments to wash all the junk and buildup out of your scalp, along with nape, shoulder, and neck relaxation. I also got a jelly mask which was really soothing. Again, I was so relaxed I fell asleep and snorted. I’m so embarrassing. Megan did my scalp facial and she is VERY good at her job. Blend & Bright has 8 stylists and 2 estheticians that do scalp facials so you are sure to be in good hands!

Blend and Bright Salon - Ankeny - House of Color

Blend & Bright: A Salon Set Apart

I am a big House of Colour devotee (check out my Color Analysis experience) and Blend & Bright Salon has made a name for itself in its amazing color, style, and salon services. If you’ve had your colors done and need to make hair color adjustments based on your season, Blend & Bright is the salon to make that happen. The stylists have an eye for color and understanding which undertones are your best! While I didn’t have my hair cut or colored this time, I did add-on blow out and style services after my scalp massage. Megan did a fantastic job at that too. Everyone commented on how nice my hair looked and I can attest that my hair only looks this good when a trained professional does it!

I had the most amazing spa day at Blend & Bright Salon and definitely recommend their spa services and their salon services. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem in Ankeny!
