Artificial Intelligence: Your Mind & The Machine Traveling Exhibit

Don’t miss the Artificial Intelligence: Your Mind & The Machine traveling exhibit, that is at the museum through April.

This limited-time exhibit is especially great for tweens and teens interested in computers, robotics, and emerging technology.

Through a variety of interactive displays, visitors can explore how artificial intelligence works, compare how the human brain processes information versus computers, and engage in critical thinking activities about the future of AI.

Get Moving

One of the most popular areas is the ball wall, which is a magnet for kids of all ages. It uses simple machines to propel balls through tubes with various obstacles and ramps before periodically dumping the balls dramatically from above. It’s something kids never seem to tire of watching. Another favorite activity nearby is the paper rocket area, where kids can build and launch their own creations.

Makers Studio

Kids can create, design, and build while experimenting with new ideas in the Makers Studio. This interactive space encourages creativity and learning something new while allowing kids to explore science through hands-on building and artistic projects. There is currently a temporary display called TapeScape, which consists of tunnels created by 3M tape, plastic wrap, and scaffolding that is especially cool.

Small Discoveries

If you have a toddler, prepare to spend a lot of time in the newly reopened Small Discoveries exhibit. Kids love the hands-on water table, grocery area, art cart, climbing structure, and more. This space is perfect for younger kids and encourages learning through play.
