We’re living in a lot of unknowns right now. More slowing down. More isolation. More concerns about our health and well-being.

I believe we should always try to live our healthiest and happiest life but now more than ever we’re aware of just how important our health is.

I’ve had good days. And really hard days. But reminding myself DAILY to focus on what I can control and give myself grace for the rest.

A lot of us are finding ourselves with some extra time on our hands so what a great opportunity to focus on some core habits to help you come out of these crazy times stronger, healthier, and happier.

We have the power to choose how we react in this situation. Let’s choose hope and joy, and focus on what we can control.

One common theme I hear is being overwhelmed and the last thing I want is your nutrition to take a back seat. Instead of trying to “do it all” and be “perfect” focus on one or two things that will inch you closer to a healthier lifestyle.

Think simple.

A glass of water instead of soda.

An apple instead of chips for a snack.

A walk instead of watching more news.

A piece (or two!) of dark chocolate instead of cookies in the evening.

A 10 minute HIIT workout instead of none at all.

A serving of vegetables instead of fries.

When making changes it’s okay to start small. You don’t have to change everything or do it all “right”. Don’t underestimate small steps – they lead to big results. Inch your way day by day during this time and let’s come out of this healthier than we were going in.

What are some small steps you can take to get you closer to being the healthiest version of you?
