Enjoy sand, water, sun, and fun at Athene North Shore Recreation Park at Easter Lake Park. The newly opened park is labeled the most universally accessible park in the country. There truly is something for everyone.
Little kids can run and splash in the play area, big kids can swim at the beach, and everyone can enjoy the peaceful views of the lake.
The playground includes a roller slide, merry go-round, and teeter totter. The sprayground water area is controlled by a button. There is also a nature playscape to climb on, a sound garden, and interactive sensory table tennis.
My kids made a beeline for the beach and loved swimming out to the diving platform and splashing in the water. Note that there is no life guard on duty, so swim at your own risk.
The best part is it is designed to be fully accessible for people of ALL abilities.
